TRUST THE PROFESSIONALS

NVD is pleased to announce that we are offering the public the opportunity to have their night vision products professionally built. We have made the decision to offer these services after having seen numerous companies and individuals who are buying night vision kits and tubes from various manufacturers and are then selling these items as professionally manufactured products, when this is in fact not the case at all.

$395 for monoculars

$495 for dual tube goggles

INDUSTRY STANDARD EQUIPMENT

In order to professionally assemble night vision products, the following equipment and proper training to utilize that equipment is necessary.

Purge Device: All night vision monoculars, binoculars/goggles require nitrogen purging after assembly to keep them from internally fogging during temperature changes.

Hoffman ANV-126A: The Hoffman ANV-126A test set is critical during the assembly process of all night vision products. These processes include:

  • Eyepiece diopter focus: All monocular and binocular devices which utilize AN/PVS-14 type eyepieces require that the diopter focus range be set properly in order for them to be able to achieve the proper diopter focus range of +2 to -6. Units built without this calibration procedure most often will not meet the +2 or -6 requirements and will only achieve a partial or skewed focus range.
  • Collimation: All dual tube goggles require that each channel of the bino/goggle be collimated. This can only be achieved using a collimation bridge. If a dual tube goggle is not collimated, it will result in actual headaches to occur with the end user during use. This is caused by the slightest of misalignments of each image intensified channel in respect to each other. Collimation must be done utilizing a collimation bridge on the ANV-126 Hoffman test set.
  • System Gain: All dual tube goggles require that the image tubes are closely matched with one another across all tube parameters. This not only applies to the individual tube performance specifications, but also the gain level of each individual tube. This is because one tube may have a gain setting of only 8,000 and the next tube may have a gain setting of as much as 12,000. In order to install these two tubes into the same dual tube goggle, they must have their gain levels measured and then each tube must be adjusted using proprietary equipment furnished by the tube manufacturers, so that the two tubes are within several hundred points of one another. These measurements and subsequent adjustments cannot be accomplished without a Hoffman test set and the proprietary software and hardware from the manufacturers of the image tubes.
