TRAINING

The NVD Team has over 100 years of combined experience in creating courses and conducting training specifically tailored to the needs of a customer. NVD’s instructors come from a diverse background including US Military and Law Enforcement. NVD offers training at its headquarters in Pennsylvania, other Continental United States (CONUS) locations, and internationally through the use of Mobile Training Teams. NVD’s Mobile Training Teams have facilitated training all over the world.

OPERATOR TRAINING

For operator training, NVD provides instruction in fundamentals of night vision operation in a tactical environment. This includes instruction on the theory and capability of night vision systems, equipment selection and operation, and a range of movement and live fire exercises designed to improve an Operators’ capability and effectiveness using night vision. NVD and its partners offer basic operator training, as well as advanced tactical training courses in:

  • Individual movement and patrolling in urban and wooded environments.
  • Vehicle operation.
  • Close quarters battle (CQB).
  • Shooting techniques and tactical marksmanship.
  • Effective employment of weapons in a low light/no light environment while using Night Vision Devices.

TRAINING SOLUTIONS

NVD offers training solutions for both operators and maintainers in an efficient, professional, and cost-effective manner. These courses are tailored to the individual needs of the customer. As part of these courses, NVD develops lesson plans to:

  • Guide instructors and students with learning objectives, using the equipment necessary to make repairs and how to conduct training.
  • Provide student handouts that support the training, including diagrams, power point slides and tests.
  • Incorporate visual aids used for training instruction that include Power Point slides, graphics, drawings, and descriptions of equipment to be on hand during the course.

MAINTENANCE TRAINING

For maintenance training, NVD provides instruction on conducting pre and post operational inspections, along with routine preventive maintenance and replacement of external parts. The maintenance tasks for both operator and intermediate levels of maintenance are demonstrated to allow the Customer to understand and discuss economic repair actions. Intermediate maintenance tasks are demonstrated performed using hand tools and test equipment common to widely fielded systems such as the AN/PVS-14, AN/AVS-9 systems and NVD’s BNVDs. Additionally, NVD provides instruction on failure analysis and repairs, where simulated failures are inserted into multiple test systems and maintenance personnel are evaluated on their ability to perform failure analysis, repairs and performance testing based on the training they received.

Please note: NVD does not offer courses that are open enrollment. Some courses require current military, law enforcement, or credentialed professional security status.
